Scholars maintain that the Trey Stapleton Band was born at the Dizzy Rooster in Austin, TX, circa 2006. Trey and John Jammal (drums) had separately left the bar that Trey had just played at and ran into each other over at the Dizzy Rooster. Having watched Trey's acoustic set, John approached Trey to talk about music. After a bunch of drinks and a discussion uncovering the common desire to start up a Texas Country band, they realized that they had just stumbled onto an opportunity to make it happen. John went straight to the studio with Trey to work on a project that Trey had already begun, and their first musical creation came to life. These recordings are long gone, but it was the beginning of the Trey Stapleton Band. Afterwards, John and Trey began practicing in their friend's garage and the rest is history...

Trey and John have played with different musicians through the years, but these days the lightning quick fingers of Omar Molina on lead guitar round out the solid trio, and are accompanied by the likes of great Austin musicians such as Steve Hammonde, Carl Garner, Rob Fulton, Jason Nunnencamp, and Conor Brown on the bass whenever the band is out gigging. It's been two years since their debut album - "Have a Drink on Me" - was released with the contributions of Grammy Award winning musicians Redd Volkaert and Cindy Cashdollar, as well as Haydn Vitera, AJ Vallejo, and Omar Vallejo. The band is now back in the studio working on new music and a new single will be released sometime in the possibly-near future!
